OKI Printing Solutions is commited to developing products, services and processes that are environmentally friendly and help maintaina sustainable future. We meet and where practical, shall exceed all legislative requirements placed on us.
This enviromental focus will cover all aspects of our design, development, manufacturing, distribution, use, reuse and disposable of product.

Our vision is to continuously improve our environmental performance through measurement and review of our processes and practices.
Commitment
As a demonstration of our commitment to achieving our vision, we shall;
Continue to publish our annual Corporate Environmental Report
Comply with all local and international environmental legislation
Act on results of self-evaluation of environment protection activities
Maintain ISO14001 Environmental certification for all our production operations
Continue to embed environmental considerations into our philosophy and management reviews
Educate and encourage employee involvement in improvement programmes
Request, and respond to customer feedback on our environmental activities
Continue to maintain and develop product take-back and disposal processes which maximise recycling and re-use
Integral to this belief are OKI Printing Solutions strenuous efforts to preserve the environment and progressive thinking has set a benchmark for the industry and established the company as a corporate leader in environmental conservation.
Considering issues such as how to prevent environmental destruction and global warming, OKI Printing Solutions regards the "Environmental Protection of the Earth" to be one of its most important management issues, and is continually developing its corporate approach to preserving the environment for the next generation.
Each of its main manufacturing sites, in Takasaki, Fukushima, Thailand and the UK, has obtained ISO14001, the international standard for environmental management, and strives to offer products which are environmentally friendly - products which save energy, minimise the use of materials and are easily recyclable.
At CeBIT 2000, history was made when the TÜV ECO Circle 2000 quality and environmental compatibility test mark was awarded to an Oki high-end printer by TÜV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH (TRPS), a subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland/Berlin-Brandenburg - marking the first time this award has been made to any printer.
The ECO Circle 2000 test programme places the highest requirements on the printers: the test certificate is awarded only to those appliances which particularly distinguish themselves in terms of safety, electro-magnetic compatibility, ergonomics, ease of recycling, low-pollutant content and energy saving capability. The test mark stands for exemplary recycling-compatible design and production, and user-friendly operation.
OKI Printing Solutions ecology objectives are:
- To evaluate the effect that our working practices have upon the environment: from engineering design through to product disposal, aiming to only offer products which are ecologically sound
- To promote the recycling of components used in all of our main printer/fax products
- To endeavour to save resources, save energy and reduce industrial wastes, through the development and improvement of environmental technology, both internally and externally
- In addition to meeting the environmental regulations issued by administrative authorities, (such as central and local government), to voluntarily establish our own programme of ecological improvement
- To implement environmental activities according to the guidelines of the `PDCA' (Plan, Do, Check, Act) Quality Control System
- To provide internal education on ecological issues, to help our employees to understand basic environmental concepts and be more ecologically aware
- To publish our `Ecological Objectives' externally as well as internally
Determination, imagination and creativity are needed to solve complex ecological issues and OKI Printing Solutions is making great efforts to ensure that every division and every employee acts responsibly upon environmental issues.
